I started a new seasonal job a little over a week ago, and I haven’t had as much time as usual for my weekly Iowa adventuring.
It sucks, but yay money!
By the way, my new job involves managing a set taking pictures of Santa with children at a mall. I never knew that was even an option for a job, but it’s honestly pretty awesome. I get to chat with Santa every day – not everyone can say that.
(Actually, no one I know can say that.)
I haven’t gone to any new places in the last week, but this is a place I explore almost weekly. It’s not far from where I live and it’s perfect for a short jaunt now and again. It is right on the Shell Rock River, has several campsites, and it is connected to a bike trail that runs through the county. Plus, there’s a playground. Even as a 25 year old, I really just have to get on a swing now and again.
When I’m in need of nature, but don’t have the time to head to a new area, this is my go-to place. Here are some photos of it throughout the Iowa seasons.
Where’s your go-to nature place?
