The Beauty of Winter

Over the years, I’ve grown to appreciate what each season brings.

Going into winter can be tough. There are days where the cold bites hard, your car doesn’t start, you slip on ice…the list goes on.

Since I’ve gotten into photography, I’ve realized the beauty of winter more and more each year. Spring, summer, and fall are gorgeous times full of life and color – almost more than you can begin to take in at once. Winter is different.

Winter exposes the bare bones of the world which create a simple and elegant frame for what you may not have noticed in the other seasons. The waters are no longer babbling, many of the birds have headed elsewhere, the leaves aren’t rustling at every breeze. There is a true quiet that comes with winter. The earth is at rest until a new season begins.
